On April 30, 2025, Ruize Bell, a 63-year-old bus driver for Montgomery County’s Ride On transit system, suffered a fatal heart attack while driving a bus full of passengers on Interstate 355 in Gaithersburg, Maryland. Despite his medical emergency, Bell managed to safely pull over and park the bus before collapsing, preventing a potential accident and ensuring the safety of his passengers. He passed away shortly thereafter.
