Youth Climate Innovators Awarded Major Grants

What Happened

The Enlight Foundation, alongside The Patchwork Collective and Lever for Change, has launched a $25 million global funding initiative to empower youth-led organizations tackling climate change. They will provide $1 million multi-year grants to 25 youth-driven groups (ages 15–35), supporting efforts in conservation, sustainable agriculture, disaster preparedness, climate justice, and more.

What Is Good About It

  • Trust in youth leadership: Significant financial support recognizing the creativity and proximity youth have to climate challenges.
  • Massive resource infusion: Large grants mean organizations can plan long-term, scale solutions, and sustain impact.
  • Holistic backing: Along with funds, recipients will get mentorship and networking support—enabling capacity-building and growth.

Why It Leads to Positivity

  1. Empowers the changemakers: Passthrough aid catalyzes youth-led initiatives that reflect lived experience and innovation.
  2. Accelerates climate action: Trusting young leaders fast-tracks locally relevant, scalable solutions.
  3. Encourages philanthropic momentum: This major investment is a call to action for other funders to back youth-driven climate solutions.
