Spneb, a Humboldt penguin residing at Paradise Park Wildlife Sanctuary in Hayle, Cornwall, celebrated her 37th birthday on April 16, 2025. Born in 1988 at Birdworld, she has been a resident of Paradise Park since shortly after her birth.
To mark the occasion, the sanctuary presented her with a special birthday cake made of ice and her favorite fish, sprats, topped with a fluffy toy penguin crafted by one of her keepers.
This celebration highlights her status as the oldest known Humboldt penguin, a species typically expected to live 15 to 20 years in the wild.
