What Happened
- In April–May 2025, Humanity Now teams visited Poland and Greece to support local aid organizations helping refugees and displaced families.
- In Athens they distributed warm clothing and children’s outfits at free drop-in centers run by partners like Amurtel.
- In Krakow, educational initiatives included Polish language lessons for refugee families, helping them integrate into schools and local life.
- Previously, in Ukraine’s border regions, a Humanity Now-funded pilot program provided medical vouchers for 83 vulnerable individuals. That success inspired Medair, a larger NGO, to expand support for 1,200 people, pledging an additional USD 80 000.
What Is Good About It

- Direct, meaningful impact: Clothing, language lessons, and medical help address immediate and ongoing needs.
- Small grants with big results: A modest USD 5 700 grant helped launch a pilot that led to larger funding and scaled assistance.
Why It Leads to Positivity
- Proof of concept: Demonstrates that targeted, local grants can catalyze larger humanitarian efforts.
- Empowerment through aid: Supports dignity by supplying essentials and promoting inclusion via education.
- Ripple effect of compassion: Inspirational efforts foster continued support and compassion from broader organizations.
